👔 the quiet confidence of style

Hey Reader,

“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes.”

–Andrew Carnegie

In a world that so often tells men to project an unwavering, almost stoic facade, the transformative power of style is often overlooked. We tend to think of fashion as mere ornamentation – a language of labels and trends that has little bearing on our core selves. But the truth is, how we present ourselves to the world has a profound impact on how we carry ourselves through it.

True style is not about chasing the latest fads or putting on an artificial persona. It's about finding the intersection of function and self-expression – assembling an arsenal of clothes, accessories, and grooming rituals that make us feel not just looked at, but truly seen. When we invest in building a wardrobe that aligns with our values and brings out our best selves, we unlock a quiet confidence that radiates outward.

This week, I want to challenge you to think beyond style as a mere surface-level impression. Instead, consider the ways your choices in menswear can be a powerful tool for self-actualization – a means of honoring your unique story and showing up authentically in the world. Because the most captivating men aren't the ones with the trendiest looks, but those who wear their confidence like a well-tailored suit.

Here's what I've got for you today.

In today's Style Dispatch:

STYLE ESSENTIALS

🍂 Fall Style Essentials

Focus on mid-layers, top-layers, attention to fabric and warm yet subdued colors.

Men’s fall style essential number one is an autumn jacket, an essential layering piece or standalone garment. I want to go over top-layer options, a mid-layer option and jackets that are good on their own.

A good field jacket has weight to it, but not so much that you can’t layer with it. It should have a light lining with ample utility pockets. Typically it’s going to be an outer layer. Opt for the most versatile colors of either navy, tan or olive like the one above.

DATING

😏 Signs that She's Flirting with You

You’re a little too cautious.

Others might tell you that a girl is clearly flirting with you, but you’d rather not assume. The last thing you want is to seem like you’re desperate or creepy, after all. Can't be too careful these days.

But, while caution is indeed a good thing… too much of it can make some women give up on you (and you wonder why you’re still single!)

So to help you along, I’ve got 30 subtle and obvious flirting signs so you won’t be scared to flirt back.

STYLE GUIDE

👕 How a T-Shirt Should Fit (A Visual Guide)

In this article I’m going to cover how a t-shirt should fit and important areas to pay attention to when it comes to proper fit.

After all, we’ve all had at least one bad experience with ill fitting department store tees, especially if you’re like me, at 5’6” a good 3 inches under the average height in America. They’re always way too long and oftentimes baggy.

Of course fit is ultimately a subjective thing, as some men prefer a looser and longer drape while others prefer a slimmer, shorter cropped fit.

In this guide, I’ll be demonstrating both aesthetics and how to determine which right for you.

PERSONAL GROWTH

How to Get ANYTHING YOU WANT in Life

Life is happening for me, not to me... it's a saying that's always resonated.

An inspiration of mine, Tony Robbins (business coach and life strategist) emphasizes the importance of understanding and harnessing human needs to achieve personal and professional goals. Here are the six fundamental human needs he covers.

  1. Certainty: The desire for stability and comfort.
  2. Uncertainty/Variety: The craving for change and new experiences.
  3. Significance: The need to feel important and valued.
  4. Connection/Love: The pursuit of relationships and belonging.
  5. Growth: The aspiration for personal development.
  6. Contribution: The drive to give back and make a difference.

He explains that individuals prioritize these needs differently, influencing their decisions and behaviors.

By identifying which needs are most significant to us, we can better understand our motivations and align our actions to fulfill them effectively.

This self-awareness enables us to create strategies that lead to desired outcomes in various aspects of life.
