This is the third newsletter of my special fall email series where I’m highlighting fresh fall style content on the blog.
Here's what I've got for you in week 3...
First, a little update from me on a personal front:
A few weeks ago, I joined a run club and recently completed my first 5k race.
I'm now training for my first 10k next month, then hopefully my first half marathon in early 2024 if all goes well.
In high school I was a sprinter on the track team and ran the 100m and 200m exclusively. I did run the 400 on occasion, but never in a million years did I imagine I'd actually enjoy long distance running. I guess it was just my limiting belief that I was incapable of running anything more than a 4, which I always struggled with.
This past weekend I went on a trip to the mountains for a 14k trail run, which pushed me to the edge. It was a tremendous challenge, but I made it through and felt like a million bucks afterwards, after treating my calves and knees with some icy hot. 😅
Lucky for me, running is slowly becoming a part of my life and I couldn't be happier about it. Maybe in time I'll even be able to identify as a runner.
All that said, I'm curious if you're a runner and if so, do you have any key tips for a newbie? There's so much to learn and I'm open to all the advice I can get.
